LOSCHELDER advises STRABAG on EUR 100 million financing round of CMBlu Energy
LOSCHELDER advised STRABAG on the acquisition of a stake in CMBlu Energy AG as part of a EUR 100 million financing round.
MBlu Energy is a leading global developer and manufacturer of organic solid-flow energy storage systems. The storage technology developed by CMBlu Energy is based on organic materials that are recyclable and available in virtually unlimited quantities. The result is energy storage systems that can be scaled to almost any size.
Through the connection with the storage manufacturer CMBlu Energy, STRABAG plans to realize the development of concrete large-scale storage projects faster and easier through construction and infrastructure support. This will give industrial companies, municipal energy suppliers and grid operators the opportunity to build large “warehouses for electricity” with organic SolidFlow batteries in the coming years and to use renewable energies more flexibly.
In addition to signing a cooperation agreement with CMBlu Energy, STRABAG is underpinning its strategic interest with an equity investment of EUR 100 million. The funds will be used for necessary investments to finance both the further scaling of production and further market development.
