LOSCHELDER advises DuMont Mediengruppe
LOSCHELDER advises DuMont Mediengruppe on the leasing and development of the sustainable office park “Friedrich und Karl” planned in Cologne.
LOSCHELDER has advised DuMont Mediengruppe on the signing of a long-term lease agreement with the Federal Agency for real estate projects (Bundesanstalt für Immobilienaufgaben – BImA). The project in question is the innovative and sustainable office project “Friedrich und Karl” with more than 45,000 square meters of contiguous office space and its own “mobility hub”, spread over six separate buildings, each with six floors.
Highlighted as the most climate-friendly office park in Cologne, the project “Friedrich und Karl” will be realized by the project partners DuMont Mediengruppe and Bauwens Development on an approximately 20,000 square meter site between Boltensternstraße and Friedrich-Karl-Straße in the immediate neighbourhood of the Neven-DuMont-Haus in Cologne (Niehl). Construction works will start in 2023. Completion of the entire office park is scheduled for 2027.
The project “Friedrich und Karl” is intended to set new standards for the development of sustainable commercial real estate. The buildings will be constructed using a wood-hybrid construction method. The operation of the buildings will be optimized by an intelligent energy management system, which allows the buildings to compensate for more CO2 emissions during operation than they release. The project therefore serves as a model for the development of future commercial properties.
LOSCHELDER is engaged in supporting its clients on legal issues related to sustainability and ESG compliance for all stages of the real estate life cycle.
