The "Handbuch Baunebenrechte” (“Handbook of Ancillary Construction Law") goes into the 2nd round
The 1st edition of the "Handbuch Baunebenrechte" was published at the beginning of 2017. Edited by Dr. Birgit Franz, attorney at law, the work presented in nine chapters all areas of law which, although not construction law in the narrower sense, are of particular importance in the construction industry. The book filled a gap because the ancillary fields of law dealt with have considerable construction-specific peculiarities that are hardly ever addressed in general presentations of the respective field of law. The handbook was intended to help all lawyers working in the construction field to deal with legal issues – in a practical manner and, at the same time, at a scientific level.
The 1st edition was very well received, so work on the 2nd edition began as early as mid-2019. This has now been delayed somewhat due to the corona pandemic – in particular because the authors also wanted to present the effects of the corona pandemic on the topics covered in a practical manner.
The 2nd edition has just been published, and as in the 1st edition, Dr. Mirko Ehrich took over the chapter on construction insurance law, while Dr. Sebastian Pelzer and Arne Gehrke, LL.M., contributed construction labour law. Further chapters, all written by renowned practitioners, are devoted to insolvency law, corporate law and criminal law, for example.
