New partner: LOSCHELDER strengthens media law practice group with Prof. Dr. Markus Ruttig

Prof. Dr. Markus Ruttig, previously a partner and head of the media law practice group at CBH, will join Loschelder as a partner on November 1, 2024.

Markus Ruttig moved from Noerr's Berlin office to CBH in Cologne in 2004 and was admitted to the partnership in 2009. At Loschelder, he will strengthen the media law practice group and, with his gambling law practice, will also be a link to the regulated industries department.

With his many years of experience in media law, Markus Ruttig advises numerous clients on the content of publications and assists those affected in the enforcement of claims against media coverage. He also has extensive experience in media and press law court proceedings on behalf of those affected as well as from the perspective of media companies. In the 3rd edition of the handbook “Internal Investigations” by Knieriem/Rübenstahl/Tsambikakis, he is the author of the chapter “Presserecht – Schutz vor Indiskretion – Reaktion auf Publikation”. Markus Ruttig is also a lecturer in media law at the Fresenius University of Applied Sciences, where he also holds an honorary professorship. He teaches digital law at the university's Cologne location. In the field of gambling law, numerous state lottery companies have relied on his advice for 20 years, particularly in matters of regulation, sales and advertising. Markus Ruttig is co-editor and editor of the 3rd edition of “Kommentar zum Glücksspielrecht” published by C. H. Beck-Verlag in 2022. He is also co-editor of the Zeitschrift für Wett- und Glücksspielrecht (ZfWG).
