Loschelder-client is awarded a prize for fighting product piracy
Loschelder has successfully represented the Licht im Raum Dinnebier GmbH in its fight against product piracy. Licht im Raum is a luminaire designer with factory in Wuppertal and showroom in Düsseldorf. The modular lighting system ‘STILIO‘ developed by Daniel Klages has been copied many times. Based on a technical protection right and trademark law, Loschelder initiated legal actions against Chinese copyists, especially against offers on the websites Alibaba.com and Aliexpress.com as well as European buyers of the imitated luminaires.
Part of the successful campaign against counterfeits of ‘STILIO‘ has been the effective publicity award ceremony within the Plagiarius competition 2016. Since 1977, every year the campaign Plagiarius e.V. is awarding prices in connection with counterfeited products, mainly to raise public awareness. During the press conference on February 12, 2016 such prize was awarded to Licht im Raum Dinnebier as original manufacturer and as ‘negative prize’ to the Chinese company Zhongshan Henglan Marsden Lighting Co.
