Loschelder Doctorate Scholarship 2021
By now, the law firm Loschelder Rechtsanwälte has awarded its 20th doctorate scholarship. Aiming at bridging science and practice, Loschelder supports doctorate projects of qualified young lawyers by granting two scholarships each year.
Recipient of the 20th Loschelder doctorate scholarship is Mr Maximilian Metzen, who is writing his doctoral thesis on the subject of "Total asset transactions under corporate law" with Prof. Dr Peter Reiff. Professor Dr Peter Reiff holds the Chair of Civil Law, Commercial and Corporate Law and Private Insurance Law at the University of Trier and has been Director of the Institute for Law and Digitalisation Trier (IRDT) since 2019.
Mr Metzen is granted an amount of 1.500 Euro/month and a workplace at Loschelder’s office where he can use its facilities (such as legal data bases, libraries) for working on her doctoral thesis. In addition, he is involved in the firm's work every 14 days for two days a week in relation to corporate law/M&A and in this way gains practical insights into the work of a lawyer. During this time, Mr Metzen will be supported by Loschelder partners Dr Sebastian Kalb and Dr Felix Ebbinghaus. Both are members of the firm's Corporate/M&A team, which, together with three other lawyers, focuses on national and international clients of all sizes on global M&A transactions and negotiations, and also assists them in arbitration and ordinary courts in the event of a crisis.
Those interested in the 21th Loschelder Doctorate Scholarship (winter term 2020/2021) can apply until October 31, 2021.
