Lecture on ’PPP in Art’ – Awarding the Loschelder Festschrift
On 16 November 2010, Loschelder Rechtsanwälte organised a lecture on ’Public Private Partnership in the Arts’. Among the invited audience of approx. 100 persons have been many representatives of universities, supreme and appeal courts and the bar.
The lecturers, Prof. Dr. Gerhard Pfennig, executive member of the board of directors of the Verwertungsgesellschaft Bild-Kunst (collecting society providing copyright protection for artists, photographers and graphic designers in Germany), attorney Prof. Dr. Peter Raue and Susanne Titz, director of the Städtische Museum Abteiberg in Mönchengladbach, looked at the chances and risks of the cooperation between artist, collector, sponsor and museum from different angles. In light of various recent cases and current debates, the lecturers analysed the legal and factual problems of Public Private Partnership in the Arts from their particular viewpoints and suggested solutions.
During the lecture Dr. Michael Loschelder, who had turned 65, was honoured with a Festschrift. The Festschrift is published by Otto Schmidt Verlag and was awarded by Prof. Dr. Felix Hey, managing director of the publishing group Dr. Otto Schmidt KG. The editors of the Festschrift, Prof. Dr. Willi Erdmann, retired chief justice at the German Federal High Court of Justice, Prof. Dr. Matthias Leistner, holder of a professorship for civil law, intellectual property rights and competition law at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn, Dr. Wilfried Rüffer and Dr. Thomas Schulte-Beckhausen, partners of Loschelder Rechtsanwälte, and more than 30 authors mainly discussed current issues and developments in intellectual property law.
