Honorary Professorship for Dr. Michael Loschelder
The Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn has appointed Dr. Michael Loschelder, partner of Loschelder Rechtsanwälte in Cologne, as honorary professor. On 17 November 2011, Prof. Dr. Fohrmann, principal of the University of Bonn, presented the letter of appointment.
For decades, Prof. Dr. Loschelder is tied to the law faculty of the University of Bonn. At the beginning of his career, he was working as academic assistant, since 2008 he is lecturer on intellectual property law. Prof. Dr. Loschelder is teaching ’Einführung in das Marken- und Designrecht’ (Introduction to Trademark and Design Law) and is responsible for the main seminar ‘Deutsches und europäisches Immaterialgüterrecht’ (German and European Industrial Property Law) in conjunction with Prof. Dr. Leistner.
By appointing Dr. Michael Loschelder as honorary professor, the University of Bonn honours his excellent performance in working practise and science. He is an expert in the field of the protection of intellectual property law on which he laid his main focus right from the beginning of his career as a lawyer. Dr. Loschelder is (co-)editor und (co-)author of important books on unfair competition law, copyright of designs, protection of know-how and geographical origin. He has given numerous lectures on intellectual property law among others at the Mittelrheinische Verwaltungs- und Wirtschafts-Akademie Bonn e.V. (VWA) and the Munich Intellectual Property Law Center (MIPLC). He has also a lectureship at the Humboldt-University Berlin. Moreover, as Secretary General of the Deutsche Vereinigung für gewerblichen Rechtsschutz und Urheberrecht e.V. (GRUR = German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property), Prof. Loschelder supports academic training in the protection of intellectual property and copyright law on German, European and international levels.
The inaugural lecture is scheduled for the first quarter 2012.
